Stop Going to Church

Have you ever wondered why church started on Sunday mornings with praise and worship songs and ended with the pastor’s benediction? I always thought that I was on the right path because I went to church every Sunday morning. Guys, I never missed a Sunday from the time I was born until my journey started. I would get ready to put on my Sunday best with a song of praise in my heart as I made my way to church. I was ready to hear the WORD and anticipated the charge up for the week to come. The preacher would always say God did not dwell in houses made by man's hands but at the same time, you were deemed a lukewarm or wayward Christian if you were not found in the church pews every Sunday.  Why is it that when we lapse into sin the first thought is “I need to go back to church”? Why was God only found in the church? Please understand, I am not saying that outside of church God was dead. I am saying that our view of God and what we understood about the faith was based on the teachings of the church. The church and the preachers taught the meaning of scripture and when we would go back and read on our own, we would read with their teachings in mind. They taught us what the gospel was meanwhile if we read the Word on our own, we would get a completely different interpretation. Most of us do not know where heaven is, the true purpose of tithing, who the Messiah really is, or what the shape of this thing we call Earth truly is. You see, my point is all my years of going to church had kept me in bondage and deception. As many times as it was preached, I COULD NOT understand the Trinity. I could not understand why one moment God said no pork and the next he supposedly said: “Eat up.” I could not understand why Jesus and all the apostles honored the Sabbath but later taught every day was the Sabbath. I could not understand why Jesus said not one jot or tittle would be taken from the law but suddenly it was nailed to the cross. I could not understand why the law was good and spiritual, but it kept us in bondage. You see the church kept me in the very same bondage that they preached against. The church reinforced lawlessness and was the author of confusion because they had the authority over my life to interpret the scriptures and how it affected my worldview and my perception of God.

I came to understand what the church was, but it was not until I had gotten out. It is a place where people gather. It is made up of a hierarchy that separates the members, from the pastors, the worship team, and the church administrators. Yea, yea, yea…I am sure some people will say “Well, my church was different.” I am sure it was. I am sure there are many churches where it feels like a family of believers coming together as one to do God's work. But it does not negate the fact that there is a separation. The worship team sings songs to get you ‘in the spirit’ or in the mood to receive. The preacher comes with a powerful message (although most of the time is just superficial). They reiterate stories from the Bible. The same stories you have heard again and again, occasionally being able to get deep and make you want to know God more and change your life. They tell you what the word says and can give you some motivation by relating you to a character in the scriptures. They can touch the subject of sin and you feel a conviction to stop doing something you know you should not do. You feel the holy spirit is in “this place.” You are determined to never live rebelliously against God ever again. You have been called to a higher standard. But…You do not know his name, you do not know what he wants, your cup still runs dry, you cannot truly forgive, you still hold records of wrong, you're paying a love offering, some honor the sabbath, some don’t, some eat pork, some don’t, some speak in tongues, some don’t, some are always saved, some aren’t, some know who the real Hebrews are, some don’t.

If you are here right now, you have probably gone through all these sentiments and are tired of looking to church leaders, theological universities, televangelists, and books to help you understand. You are probably tired of allowing your opinions to be influenced by others and depending on them to know the Truth and what the scriptures say. I want you to know that if you desire truth then the Spirit of Yah or the Ruach Yahuah (what we have been taught is the holy spirit) will teach you. In these last days, many are being called out and are being set apart. They are being revealed Truth and will worship in Spirit and Truth. As you continue your journey you will come to fully understand what this means. If he is calling you out of church and this world system, trust him. He wishes to instruct you. Do not think that you are forsaking the assembly. This ‘church’ thing is not the assembly but rather a counterfeit. It looks good. It sounds good. It feels good. But it is not the assembly. The assembly are those who have not defiled themselves to the ways of this world. They are the ones who spend time in the secret place and abide under The Almighty. They rely on Him to teach and guide them. They do not compromise no matter the cost. They love Truth and honor his commands. They are ridiculed and scolded for his name's sake.

1 John 2:26-27 “I have written this to you concerning those who lead you astray. But the anointing which you have received from Him stays in you and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as the same anointing teaches you concerning all, and is true, and is no falsehood, and even as it has taught you, you stay in Him.”

I know the following will sound crude, but as you go along in your journey you will understand. The church is part of the beast system (most members that are part of it do not know this yet) and that is why many are being called out to form part of the assembly of the saints. If you feel the call, answer, and come out of her. Do you hear the call? STOP GOING TO CHURCH.
