To be or not to be…HOLY

Holy, I think it is the most overused word in religion. I think every religion uses that word to describe something honored, good, or perfect. I know in Christianity holy is something to aspire for it is the very word that describes the nature of God. He is holy. You hear it again and again in the worship songs. But has anybody ever really asked what holy even means? Why is it that it is a word that is found in every single religion? How can Krishna, Allah, and God all be holy? Why is it so easily used before a curse word…holy this or holy that? Are you following me? As I sought out more truth, I realized that everything I had been taught in the Christian faith had been nothing but lies. When you go into the Oxford dictionary you see that the word holy means blessed, revered, venerated, hallowed, sacred, and dedicated. That is what the God of Christianity is supposed to be. But hey! Wait a minute…that is what all the other gods are supposed to be too along with the frequently spoken foul curse words used by nearly more than half the world population. I just could not believe that the God of my faith was placed in the same box as every other god. Aside from not having a name besides LORD and GOD, this just posed another problem for me. He was just a general god with a general attribute. There was nothing that made him different. There was nothing that separated him and to be frank, I was tired of chasing after a lie.

You see I was seeking truth. I was seeking truth because I was never set free. While there were many truths in Christianity, they were often covered up with lies and superficial teachings. I had made up my mind that if I was going to dedicate my life to worshiping a god, he had to be the true one and I had to do it the way he wanted me to, not the way I felt was right. So, I searched to know who this God I was worshiping was without the influence of religious institutions or the different interpretations of great men of renown. I was baffled. MAN, O MAN! The rabbit hole ran deep. I will explain what I mean as I share more content but for now, I will stick to this holy thing. I realized that the God I worshipped was indeed different, but he was diminished by those who control the faith and in some sense the world. His name was erased, his nature was diminished, his way had been obscured and his power was transferred. The deception was great, and I was bothered. Listen, if you are seeking truth, you will find it but let us start here. Yahuah is the GOD of all creation. He is NOT holy. HE IS SET APART. He created all things that are and all things that will ever come to be. There is nobody who can compare to him, his nature, or his power. He is not this obscure figure who is far from creation and demands to be worshipped. He is not the head of a religion but rather the very source of life itself. He is not this deity who sets rules and places human authority using institutions and man-made churches to reinforce his teachings and desires for us. He has not called us to be holy aka revered aka dedicated aka venerated aka sacred. He has called us to be SET APART. Different from all the rest. To hate what the world loves and to love what the world hates. To have the very laws of Yahuah written on our hearts and to bear his light so that his TRUTH can shine forth and the world may know that HE IS. You see the term holy applies to anybody and anything. But not anybody can be set apart.  Yahuah has called us to be like him, to be set apart as he is set apart. I refuse to be like the HOLY Catholic Church perverted by lawlessness and crimes against humanity. I refuse to be holy like the Christians who ‘put on the nature of Christ’ where on the outside they look pure but, on the inside, have the worst heart conditions and hate obedience. I refuse to be holy like the Revelation 2:9’s who stole a whole identity and deceived the whole world. I could go on forever, but I will stop with this. Have you chosen yet? As for me, I have chosen not to be…holy.
